The 34th annual Big Muddy Film Festival will take place Tuesday, February 21st though Sunday, February 26th, which is significantly shorter than past years. Typically the festival opens during a weekend, runs throughout the following week, then wraps on the second weekend. This year, the festival schedule appears more streamlined, with less re-showings and only lasting five days.
Screenings take place at SIU Campus, the Big Muddy IMC (Washington Street), the Gaia House (Illinois Avenue), Sound Core (Illinois Avenue) or the Liberty Theater in Murphysboro. The cost is either $4 to attend or free. This is a rare opportunity to support the international independent film community and an SIU tradition.
